Generative Artificial Intelligence andCreativity: Will Machines Take over Artists?

Art has never been ordinary, a human creation, music, paintings, stories, designs, which express emotion and imagination. However, nowadays, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is starting to know how to do some of these, as well. ChatGPT, DALL·E, and Midjourney are some of the tools that are now able to compose a poem, draw a picture, and even write a song. This emerging technology is referred to as generative AI – and it is transforming the visualization of creativity.

What Is Generative AI?

Generative AI refers to AI that is able to produce new rather than act upon commands. It makes use of large quantities of information, such as millions of pictures, books, or sounds, and then
generates something new founded on what it has learned.

For example:

You can write draw a mountain sunset in watercolor style and an AI art tool will create you one within a few seconds.
It is possible to write an essay, story, or even screenplay with the help of AI writing tools.
Artists are using AI to come up with background music or propose tunes.
It is an intelligent assistant that can make whatever you want – in a second.

Is AI Really Creative?

It is here that the interesting part comes in. Algorithms are capable of creating art when do they experience art.

Human beings make out of feeling and experience, we are happy, disappointed, loved, or angry, and convert it into art. AI is without emotion, it simply analyses trends. It is aware of what beautiful is depending on what has been liked previously by people.

Thus, AI is capable of creating art that is impressive to look at or hear, but lacks the emotion of
the piece. That is the peculiarity of human creativity.

Supporting Artists, Not Starting Over.

Most artists are viewing AI as a creative companion instead of considering it as a competitor. It may assist them in trying out new styles, experimenting, or doing rather dull chores such as
editing or coloring.

To illustrate, AI can be used to plan movie scenes by filmmakers and hundreds of options of
designs can be tested by designers before settling on one. AI tools are used by writers
brainstorming or correcting grammar.

This way, AI can be an inspiration tool and not an imagination one.

The Ethical Side

The ownership is also a controversial issue. When an AI software generates a photo or music,
who is the owner of the picture or song, the user or the computer? And what of the original
artists whose art schooled the AI? These are some of the questions still debated globally.

The Future of Creativity

The development of AI will only continue to expand, yet it will never substitute the heart of a
human being. Emotions, dreams and stories are the real sources of creativity these are things that only human beings can have emotions about. Generative AI has the prospect to transform the way we create, and will never steal the reason why we create.

After all, art will never be able to do without a human touch.
